We’d suggest arriving by Thursday, July 16th, however, please feel free to book your trip for as long as you wish. There are many fun things to do on island if you would like to enjoy a few extra days!

The majority of the wedding events will be located at Bolongo Bay Beach Resort. Please note, there are a limited number of rooms at Bolongo, so we urge you to make your reservation as soon as you can (bookings can always be updated!). More information on reserving rooms at Bolongo with our special rates can be found in the Accommodations section below.

Flights

St. Thomas is located in the US Virgin Islands. As a US territory, US citizens will not need a passport to arrive or depart.

When booking your flight, use airport code STT to fly into Cyril E. King Airport in Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas. Flights are limited into St. Thomas, so we recommend booking as soon as possible to avoid surging prices, or less desirable routes!

Cyril E. King Airport is the major airport in St. Thomas, and is easily accessible via direct routes for some major airlines and cities (i.e. United flies direct via Dulles). There are also common connecting routes through Miami or Puerto Rico. Major airlines that fly into St. Thomas include: American, Delta, JetBlue, Spirit, and United.

Accommodations

Bolongo Bay Beach Resort

There are a variety of hotels on the island, but our guests are recommended to stay at Bolongo Bay Beach Resort (Danielle’s family has owned and operated the hotel since 1974!). A stay at Bolongo is just what a Caribbean vacation should be – laid-back, relaxing, and fun. The hotel is not a deluxe property, but the rooms are spacious and comfortable, the staff is friendly and welcoming, and the food & drinks can’t be beat! Bolongo will be a gathering place for the wedding party, friends and family, and is a fun, centrally located hotel on the South side of the island.

Keep in mind that Bolongo is a small hotel, and rooms may sell out. Reservations should be made ASAP to ensure availability (you can always adjust your dates if needed).

• Beach Front Room $262.50 per night + tax ($323.69 total)
  • Beach Front rooms are located on the first floor, where you can walk from your balcony right onto the beach side
• Ocean View Room $245 per night + tax ($302.78 total)
  • Ocean View rooms are located on the 2nd or 3rd floors, where you can admire ocean views from your balcony.
• Value Room $175 per night + tax ($219.13 total)
  • Very few of these rooms are available. Value Rooms are in an older building on property, without an ocean view. Just steps from the beach and pool.

Note: Rates listed above are based on double occupancy (up to 2 guests) for the European Plan (room and water sports only). Bolongo offers All Inclusive rates as well (includes food & drink), but we’d recommend the room-only plan if you’ll only be staying for a few days of wedding activities. Vacation Rentals

There are a number of villas and condos available for rent on St. Thomas, either through Airbnb, TripAdvisor, etc. If you’re interested in staying at a rental, keep in mind that transportation may be limited to some locations, and there are very few walkable areas of the island. We’d recommend renting a car if you decide to go this route!

The most convenient location to consider would be the south side, near Bolongo Bay. There are some condo units within walking distance to the hotel (Watergate or Sea Cliff), and they may even reference their proximity to the hotel in the listing. Airbnb search link here.

Transportation

Uber and Lyft are not available on island!

From the Airport

The airport is a 20-30 minute drive to Bolongo Bay, depending on traffic and time of day. Taxis will be available at the airport, and no advance arrangements are required to reserve them. The airport taxis are multi-destination vans, which means you will share the ride with other visitors who may be going to different destinations on the island. A taxi from the airport to Bolongo typically costs $12 for a single person, and $9 per person for two or more people. Please note there is also a charge of $2 to $4 for suitcases, depending on size.

Getting around the island

Taxis will be available at all major hotels, shopping, and dining areas. If not already waiting, one can be called to your location. If you’re visiting a beach or planning an outing, check with your concierge or front desk if you’d like to arrange pickup in advance.

Rental Cars

We drive on the left side of the road in St. Thomas (with the steering wheel on the left also), and there are some winding hillside roads to navigate. If that doesn’t sound too intimidating, renting a car can be a great way to see the island! We don’t recommend renting a scooter, as the hills can be quite steep.

Car rental agencies can be found at the airport, or you can usually arrange to be picked up from your hotel. A few options include:

Passports

• Passports are not required for US citizens to enter or exit the US Virgin Islands. However, if you plan to take advantage of an excursion to any of the neighboring British Virgin Islands during your stay, a passport would be required.

Cell Service

• AT&T is the only reliable cellular provider in the USVI, service can be very limited for other providers. Verizon and Sprint will be spotty at best, and depending on your plan, you may be charged roaming fees for data.
